New life, new me!

In just 5 months everything changed, and how much I grew up!

I left my family house in Portugal for the first time;
I came to UK alone to find a job that could make me happy;
I started working as Au Pair;
I lived with an Irish-Scottish-English family in south of England;
I went from being "afraid" to speak English to speak fluently and think in English;
I also went from not being able to cook an egg to find love in cooking and baking;
I started knitting;
I fell homesick and missed my family and friends;
I meet so many great and different people from all over the world, and made new friends;
I realized that I have more friends that I thought;
I lost my boyfriend;
I felt in love with an 8 year old lovely boy with down syndrom;
I joined my grandmother and my younger brother in a trip to London;
I learned to enjoy being alone;
I realized that I'm stronger and more capable than I ever thought;
I got a proper job in another part of the country in one week, when I knew that I had 4 weeks to leave;
I found a house there (or a room, in a shared house) in 2 days;
I moved from Kent to Cambridge in one week;
I said goodbye, or "see you soon", again;
And after 140 km and lots of suitcases packed, I started a new life ... my own and independent life!

Starts a new life, but the same Little Mary.

Em apenas 5 meses tudo mudou; e o quanto eu cresci!


Eu sai de casa da minha família em Portugal pela primeira vez;

Eu vim para o Reino Unido sozinha para encontrar um trabalho que me fizesse feliz;
Eu comecei a trabalhar como Au Pair;
Eu vivi com uma família Irlandesa-Escocesa-Inglesa no sul de Inglaterra;
Eu passei de ter "medo" de falar Inglês para passar a falar fluentemente e pensar em Inglês;
Eu passei também de não ser capaz de estrelar um ovo para me apaixonar pela culinária;
Eu aprendi a fazer tricot;
Eu senti saudades de casa e senti muito a falta da minha família e amigos;
Eu conheci tantas e diferentes pessoas de todo o mundo, e fiz novos amigos;
Eu descobri que tinha mais amigos do que pensava;
Eu perdi o meu namorado;
Eu apaixonei-me por um rapaz adorável de oito anos com síndrome de down;
Eu juntei-me à minha avó e ao meu irmãozinho numa viagem a Londres;
Eu aprendi a gostar de estar sozinha;
Eu descobri que sou mais forte e capaz do que alguma vez pensei;
Eu, numa semana, arranjei um emprego noutra parte do país, quando soube que tinha 4 semanas para sair;
Eu arranjei uma casa lá (ou um quarto, numa casa partilhada) em 2 dias;
Eu mudei-me de Kent para Cambridge numa semana;
Eu disse adeus, ou até já, de novo;
E 140 km e imensas malas empacotadas depois, eu comecei uma nova vida ... a minha própria e independente vida!

Começa uma nova vida, da mesma Little Mary.
