In my boys school (Discovery School - Kings Hill) parents use to give some help (activities, listening, reading, looking around, take care, etc.), and as I have some spare time and I like kids, I volunteered to help them.
Monday - Jenner Class (Reception - 4 to 5 years)
Tuesday - Hawkins Class (Year 5 - 9 to 10 years)
Wednesday - Newton Class (Reception - 4 to 5 years)
With 4 - 5 years kids I need to be sweet, kind, give them lots of attention and affection and play with them. And also interact, encourage and help with some exercises given by the teacher. And I just love them. They hug me spontaneously and oh well, I'm a "hugger"!
With 9 - 10 years kids it's different. Until now, I'm helping with Arts and with the reading. Which is great. I like arts and crafts, and reading is great for my English. I pick up some students, one at a time, to listen (and correct) them reading their books for 10 minutes each. Which is ironic and funny, because they don't have a clue that sometimes I don't know what they are saying. But most of the time I can understand everything and correct their readings (when is needed).
I don't think I could be a teacher, but I'm really happy with helping them at the school. It's nice because I have different people to meet and talk. And I have different kids to play and look after. And some of them truly appreciate that I'm there for them.
And I'm enjoying each class for different reasons, but I'm always learning there. I have adults (teachers) to speak, I'm learning when they are learning, and I learn a lot with this little pieces of sugar! :)

Ano novo, vida nova, novas descobertas!
Na escola dos meus miúdos (Discovery School - Kings Hill) é comum os pais darem uma ajuda nas turmas (actividades, ouvir, ler, orientar, tomar conta, etc.), e como tenho algum tempo livre e gosto de crianças, voluntariei-me para ajudar também.
2ª feira - Jenner Class (O que eles chamam Reception - 4 a 5 anos)

Com as crianças de 4-5 anos é preciso ser doce, amável, dar-lhes muita atenção e carinho e brincar com eles. E também interagir, incentivar a participar e ajudar com alguns exercícios dados pela professora. E eu adoro-os. Bom, eles abraçam-me espontaneamente e eu sou uma "abraçadora"!
Com os miúdos de 9-10 anos é diferente. Até agora, tenho ajudado com trabalhos manuais e com a leitura. O que é óptimo. Eu gosto de trabalhos manuais e a leitura é óptima para o meu Inglês. Reúno-me com alguns alunos, um de cada vez, e ouço-os (e corrijo) a ler os seus livros, durante 10 minutos cada. O que é irónico e engraçado, porque eles não fazem ideia que às vezes eu não sei o que eles estão a dizer. Mas na maioria das vezes eu entendo tudo e corrijo as leituras (quando é preciso).
Eu acho que não dava para professora, mas eu estou muito contente por estar a ajudar na escola. É bom porque lá tenho pessoas diferentes para conhecer e conversar. E diferentes crianças para brincar e cuidar. E algumas delas apreciam verdadeiramente que eu esteja lá para eles.
Estou a gostar de cada turma por diferentes razões, mas estou sempre a aprender. Tenho adultos (professores) para falar, aprendendo quando os alunos estão a aprender, e aprendo imenso com aqueles pequenotes super docinhos ! :)
